Luisangel Acuña, born March 12, 2022 in Caracas, Venezuela, is a professional Major League Baseball Shortstop currently playing for the New York Mets organization. He signed as an international free agent with the Texas Rangers in August 2018.
He started his professional career in the Dominican Republic with the DSL Rangers. He impressed in his first season hitting .342. In his second minor league season he was named the Rangers Minor League Defender of the Year. After the missed COVID year in 2020, he was named a 2021 MiLB.com Organization All-Star.
In the middle of the 2023 season he was traded to the New York Mets. He was subsequently optioned to Triple A Syracuse.
